PRODUCTION: MOVING RIGHT ALONG!
In most publishing houses, the production of your book will not be handled by just one person. While your book is being edited, many other things are happening behind the scenes. Weekly meetings may be held for all the people involved in publishing your book. The issues may include the book's layout, designing and formatting the book and dust-jacket copy and art, securing copyrights, discussions and strategies with sales people, and other marketing strategies, such as advance book reviews and promotional information. The editor will write a biographical sketch about you, using information you have supplied. The chosen artist is designing the cover art and submitting sample sketches to the editor for approval before painting the final picture. Busy, busy, busy!
