WRITERS BLOCK
Oh dear! Kick those things out. In my own experience, writers blocks were the result of not having thought out my plot completely. I would reach a certain point and not be able to continue. I believe this is the cause of most writers blocks. To get back on track, allow yourself some time to think the story through, or, as I did, make an outline of what you already have and see if that's what you intended when you first thought of the idea. If necessary, make a new outline. It should be easier now. In fact, my rough drafts are basically just rough outlines.
Here's a technique I use to help me get from yesterday's writing to today's. When you stop writing for the day, try to stop in the middle of an interesting scene. Just leave it hanging. When you return to the writing again, your mind will force you to complete that thought or scene, and it will be easier to go on from there.
Switching to 'Right Brain" mode can also make the thoughts flow again. To make the switch, just do something repetitious for a half hour or so. Do something very boring that actually doesn't require much thought (such as re-typing a paper). After a while of doing this, your subconscious becomes bored and MUST do what subconscious minds are best at--they CREATE, and all creative work comes from Right Brain activity.
